KANGKONG IN MY GARDEN

Supremely happy with myself, because i have kangkong growing in my terrace garden, its beautiful , lush green and so much fun to just pull out and cook....very very happy...
Think all of us must try and grow a few basic things ... because its so simple to, also have basil and lemon grass...

  4. I love this blog. I'm always learning something new. Ask a librarian... this is the first paragraph of the Wikipedia article on Kangkong:

Ipomoea aquatica is a semi-aquatic tropical plant grown as a leaf vegetable. It is known in English as Water Spinach, Water Morning Glory, Water Convolvulus, or by the more ambiguous names "Chinese spinach" and "swamp cabbage". It has many other names in other languages. It is found throughout the tropical and subtropical regions of the world; it is not known exactly where it originated."

I think I've seen "Chinese spinach" in the US and will look for it. Southern states are not allowed to grow it, as it is invasive in wet areas and thus bad for the ecology.
